Another 2010 UFO finished!

Last year I had this great plan. I would use scraps and make a series of monotone scrappy quilts. In theory, it seemed like a neat idea. In reality I didn't enjoy much of the process. I'm a process crafter through and through but, for the first time, I have completed a project that was all about the finished product. The only enjoyable part of the quilt was he fabrics.

Now that it's finished, I love it. Love. Love. Love. It's green and cheery and scrappy and I'm so glad I didn't let it fall too far into the UFO abyss. 

The quilt is a basic spiderweb. I used a template based on a tutorial found online. It's been so long that I honestly can't remember where I found the tutorial but I remember the tutorial used a lot of civil war scraps.

I used most of my favourite green scraps. Mostly fmf and kjr with some others thrown in because I had them. The centers are made from gray polka dotted fabric.

The back is green gingham-like plaid with large scraps left from the front.

The finished block size is about 10" so the finished quilt is around 50" square.  I wish it was larger, I really do. But I just wanted the darn thing finished. Apparently I lack perseverance because I could not get myself to make two more rows. We've still been using it on the couch at night and, of course, it's kitty approved.
