I have no idea what happened to all my photos
Thanks for all your emails letting me know that all my photos disappeared. I have no idea where they went but I'll look into it. Anyone know why this happened?

summertime versus sewtime
Summertime always wins.
But the weeks are not without progress.
I got a little carried away making some blocks to add to the blocks that the great girls in my bee are going to make. The bee (and my month) don't start until August but I had to feed my need to start new projects. My colours are neutrals with a little colour.
These were my test blocks that I was really happy with.

Then I made a bunch more...
And put them together...
It's busier than the version in my head (surprising because my head is pretty busy!) but I still like where it's heading. Some neutral heavy blocks in the mix should do the trick to calm it down a bit. I'm aiming big with this quilt. That doesn't mean that the quilt will get finished. Just that, in a world where quilts get finished, this would be a biggie.
This month, also marked the end of the Spicing up the Kitchen swap. My partner (who I was somewhat intimidated to create for because she seems to have great style) wanted lots of potholders. I don't know what constitutes lots but apparently, to me, lots is three. She desired fairly specific colours and style but I had to throw in one that was a little bit more me. Scrappy and black, to leave my mark.
I love black in quilting and sewing projects. But if fabric had a billboard top 40, black probably wouldn't make. In fact, at my local MQG meeting a couple months ago (because I can so rarely actually make a meeting), we went around the room and named our ONE favourite colour. Ya, I know, right? Just one? I said black and, at once, the room seemed to be both silent and full of gasps. So, ya, not a popular choice but I think my partner is hip and cool enough to make black work in her kitchen. If not, I also made a simple towel.
Don't forget to check out my interview with Jennifer. Happy Monday! Thanks for stopping by.

Do you read Ellison Lane's Blog? If not, you should because on Friday I was part of Jennifer's Chat feature! I feel so awful that I didn't have computer access to blog about it until now because she was so nice to include an unknown, like me, among popular bloggers like Erin of Two More Seconds and Darci of Stitches and Scissors.
Thanks Jennifer! I too, wish we were close enough to hang out!
Now head on over and see what else she has cooking - there's always something fun happening at her blog.
